Katy Perry is finally opening up about her split from Russell Brand.
In an interview with Vogue, she reveals how the British comedian broke the news that he no longer wanted to be married. Katy says, "He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31st, 2011."
Katy moved on with John Mayer, and of that coupling she says, "All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind. Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."
Katy Perry says it wasn't her idea to have little or no film of Russell Brand in her concert flick, Part of Me -- she just couldn't find any!
Katy tells Vogue that Brand steered clear whenever cameras were around, a move that hurt her feelings. She says, “That wasn’t edited to leave footage out -- there wasn’t any footage of him. At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they’re like, 'I can’t handle the equalness.' He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting.”
