Victoria Soto, one of six staffers killed during December's horrific school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, will never be forgotten. On Monday, the town council at nearby Stratford voted to name a new elementary school building after her.

Soto, who was only 27 when she was killed, grew up in Stratford, which is located about 22 miles southeast from Newtown. She died on December 14th, when she reportedly attempted to protect her first-grade students from the gunman who killed 20 children and five other adults in the second-worst school shooting in U.S. history.
