Jan 3 – 13: The Washington Jewish Film Festival is an annual event that promotes the preservation of Jewish culture by showing films with Jewish themes and encouraging a dialogue about a variety of issues. The film festival, sponsored by the Washington, DC Jewish Community Center's Morris Cafritz Center for the Arts, will present 55 films from 15 countries screened at 10 different venues.

 Fri – Sun, Jan 11 - 13: The Washington Winter Show, a charity antiques show in Washington DC, at American University, will feature fine antiques, distinguished events, and a Loan Exhibition. The theme of this year's show is "The Thrill of the Chase: Antiques of the Sporting Life." Forty-five premier dealers from the United States and Europe will offer a wide range of period furnishings and decorative arts, vintage jewelry, porcelains, ceramics, silver, and architectural garden accents during the Show.

Friday night, Jan 11: Bethesda Art Walk features downtown Bethesda galleries and studios that open their doors from 6 - 9pm on the second Friday of every month.

Sun & Mon, Jan 13 - 14: Beth El Hebrew Congregation Book Sale 11th Annual Used Book Sale, on Seminary Road in Alexandria, on Sunday and Monday.

Sat, Jan 12: Monthly Used book sale at Germantown Public Library, on Century Blvd., from 10 – 1PM.

Sat, Jan 12: Falls Church Farmer’s Market on Saturday, from 9 – 12, at Falls Church City Hall Parking Lot.  Open year round, the Market hosts more than 15 local farmers and producers in the winter and more than 40 the rest of the year. Vendors offer fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables, cheeses, meats, baked goods, plants, and wine. The Fairfax County Master Gardeners also staff a booth at the Market to answer gardening questions.
