Looks like there will be no time for seconds this Thanksgiving for Black Friday shoppers. Some retailers, including the world’s largest, are opening earlier than ever this year. Wal-Mart and Sears are opening their stores at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Kmart will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will reopen from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Macy’s, Best Buy and Kohl’s all open at midnight.

According to NBC, Wal-Mart has been getting flack on Facebook for not observing the full holiday, but business analysts claim the payoff is worth the backlash: Stores that extended their hours to open earlier saw an average 22% increase in sales. So, while shoppers might complain about Black Friday encroaching on Turkey Day, they’re still turning out in droves to buy things anyway.
