Medical experts have taken a closer look at nail-biting and have decided to change its classification from a mere habit to a full-fledged obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Millions of people around the world suffer from the addiction to biting their nails, which can be harder to quit than smoking cigarettes, but is not considered that big of a deal.

The American Psychiatric Association now thinks it is a big deal and will start looking at the habit as something as serious as other obsessive-compulsive behaviors like hand-washing, hair-pulling and skin-picking. (OnlyMyHealth.com)
