I'm a native Washingtonian - born in Alexandria and raised in Silver Spring. I hardly attended class at John F. Kennedy High School. Was too busy running the school radio station. (The same one I brought in from my bedroom. My parents got sick of all the loud music.) Anyway, 40+ years later, I'm on the air at my favorite hometown station, 97.1 WASH-FM. I'm blessed to be married to a wonderful New Jersey gurl and have two amazing teenagers that keep me busy and happily frustrated. Thanks for reading AND listening!
Unlike most people who live in the DC area...I'm actually FROM here. I was born in Northwest, DC and raised in Vienna, Virginia. I'm first generation Armenian-American. Shortly after graduating from Mary Washington College (now it's University of Mary Washington), I was lucky enough to land a radio gig back in DC. I've worked on the air in this market since 1996, as a news reporter/anchor, morning show side-kick, afternoon personality and traffic reporter.
A little more about my personal interests... I'm a book worm (I've been known to read at least one novel a week). My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird". I'm addicted to "Grey's Anatomy", "Boardwalk Empire", "Game of Thrones", "The Following", "The Americans" and "Breaking Bad"...don't even think about calling me during those shows! My favorite movie of all-time is "Rocky." One of the highlights of my career was interviewing Sylvester Stallone.
After several heartbreaks, I finally met a guy who actually MEANT it when he said "I want to marry you someday." My husband (Don) and I met in December 2007... and got married on May 22nd, 2011. Like me... Don is also a native Washingtonian.
Also: I don't like walking on grates, I'm SUPER competitive, I have a tendency to "sing speak" when I get excited (you may even hear me do it on the air sometimes...LOL). I've become a HUGE Washington Capitals fan since meeting my husband. Oh...and I'm a pop culture junkie. My guilty pleasures are bad reality TV and celebrity gossip.

"Wardrobe malfunctions" are starting to become a "trend." I think the term took off after the Janet Jackson Superbowl fiasco a few years back. Since then, many celebrities have had "oops" moments with their clothes.
The latest "victim" was MARIAH CAREY. She was getting ready to perform LIVE on "Good Morning America" this morning when her dress decided to "malfunction." I love how she calls out the designer of the dress (Donatella) for what happened. LOL. Check out the video to see how she managed to "keep it all together." - Chilli Amar

I can't believe that my husband and I are just a few short months away from having to change DIAPERS! I've done it before when I used to babysit, but I don't think Don ever has. I'm sure it's going to be quite an adventure!
I know it's going to be a challenge when we have to change the diaper in PUBLIC. I can't imagine it's fun carrying around a diaper bag for those emergencies...and hoping that there's a bathroom nearby with a changing table. As frustrating as it might be, there are some places where you should NEVER change a diaper.
According to a blogger from TheStir.com, here are some locations that should be OFF LIMITS:
1. A table in any restaurant or coffeehouse or bar.
2. Your seat in an airplane.
3. On the ground in a parking lot.
4. In the seat of a grocery cart.
5. On someone's sofa, without asking first.

Women have gotten the reputation for being very high maintenance. Well, now the tables are starting to turn around. According to a recent survey, one in five women believe their MAN is high maintenance.
Researchers say the rise of the ‘metrosexual’ is leading to a wave of high-maintenance men in modern couples. So what makes a man HIGH MAINTENANCE? Well, according to women here are just a few signs...
1. Needing a reply to a text message/email straight away
2. Always late
3. Spends longer in the bathroom than you do
4. Won’t wear anything which isn’t branded or designer
5. Refuses to use public transport
6. Refuses to walk anywhere
7. Constantly looking at themselves in a mirror
8. Will only eat out at ‘nice’ restaurants
9. Will only drink bottled water
10. Will only drink fine wine

My husband and I are both native Washingtonians who grew up going on the best field trips in the DC area. We visited monuments, museums and various landmarks that tourists flock to see. We were very fortunate.
When Don and I plan our vacations, we don't really think much about going to places where there are landmarks. It's more about finding a destination with a great BEACH. I'd love to explore the U-S more...especially after reading about a recent survey from Hotwire.com.
According to Hotwire.com, most of us haven't been to some of the country's most famous landmarks. Here five that MOST Americans have never seen:
1. 78% of us have never been to the Space Needle in Seattle.
2. 73% of Americans have never visited Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
3. 70% have never seen the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.
4. 69% of us have never seen the Hollywood Sign.
5. And 57% have never been to the White House.
The only landmark on the list that more than HALF of Americans have visited was the Las Vegas Strip. Only 45% of us haven't been there.
From that list, I've been to the WHITE HOUSE and VEGAS. That's it! What about YOU? I'd love to hear about the places you HAVEN'T been to yet in the comment section below.

I can't imagine how exhausting it must be to be on a press junket to promote a movie. You're basically flying all around the country to do interviews. Well, it appears all that traveling caught up with MORGAN FREEMAN.
He was doing an interview with a TV station in Tacoma, Washington with his co-star Michael Caine. They were promoting their new movie Now You See Me...and it appears Freeman started to FALL ASLEEP in the middle of the interview! Check out the video below, starting around the 1:30 mark (and getting gradually worse) and see for yourself. LOL. - Chilli Amar
