At the National Press Club on Friday, James Taylor said his name had been in play to star in the movie Lincoln. JT revealed that John Williams, who did the score for the movie, pushed to have Sweet Baby James play Honest Abe. Of course, Daniel Day-Lewis got the part.

Taylor said taking on the role "was never going to happen" - but he is flattered that some moviegoers are saying Day-Lewis' portrayal reminds them of JT. James doesn't see the resemblance, beyond noting that both of them are "tall and somewhat skinny."
