Kathy Griffin Diagnosed with Lung Cancer, Will Have Part of Lung Removed

Kathy Griffin has revealed that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

The comedian shared the news on social media by additionally telling her followers that she will be undergoing surgery to have part of her left lung removed.

"The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung," Griffin wrote. "Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing."

She also confirmed that she has never smoked and that she has been vaccinated for COVID-19.

"The consequences for being unvaccinated would have been even more serious. Please stay up to date on your medical checkups. It'll save your life."
