I never thought I'd get married. Not because I didn't WANT to get married, but because I didn't think I'd find a guy I could spend the rest of my life with. It took a while to find Don. We met a little over 5 1/2 years ago...and got married on May 22nd, 2011 (yes, our second anniversary is coming up soon!).
If you're married, then you know that "marriage" takes "work." However, I don't think "work" is necessarily a bad thing. For instance, I work at this radio station...but I LOVE my job. I could bore you with the MANY reasons why Don is such a great partner...but I won't. I didn't find him until MUCH later in life, but he was worth the wait.
Right after I accepted the job as co-host of the WASHfm morning show, panic started to set in. I started to doubt myself. I wasn't sure I could be a worthy co-host to Loo. The anxiety started to get a bit overwhelming, but I had Don in my corner. He knew exactly how to calm me down.
When I arrived at the station on my first day, I discovered this note in my lunch bag...
That simple gesture gave me enough confidence to take on the day. Yes, I know I'm a lucky girl.
